Cage Curtains
I didn't make my own cage curtain - I bought mine from Janita's Design, they have an on-line shop at Spinns kattsida. Even so I do have some suggestions regarding Cage Curtains. Although the measurement are all according to swedish SVERAK shows.

The show cages at SVERAK have the standard mesurement of 60 cm deep and high and 75 cm wide for singel cages and 150 cm wide for double cages. What the cage curtain is supposed to cover is the inside of the cage.

When you select the fabric, consider that a dark fabric makes it very dark in the cage. Pick a color that will bring out your cat as favorably as possibly. Many people choose a fabric in the same color as the eyes of the cat, but that is a matter of taste. My personal opinion is that you should avoid patterns on the fabric, it draws away the attention from the cat. I also would recommend a fabric with a chintz, that prevent some of the wrinkling and doesn't attract as much cat hair.
Make the curtain 220/300 cm long and 80 cm high. You can attach the curtain to the cage by making a hem in the upper part of the curtain to pull a curtain spiral through and hook to the cage.
For the bottom you need something that is somewhat sturdy so that it will stay in place when the cat moves around in the cage, You can for example use a piece of carpet or sew a pad in the same fabric as the curtain.
On the top you should have a as transparent fabric as possible, here is where the light comes through. If you would like something hanging down on the front of the cage, consider that the cage number might be covered up - and the assistants will have difficulty finding your cat.
As far as side curtains goes - that is also a matter of taste. The cats will have difficulty to see and be seen, they also make the cage darker. But if you have a cat that is nervous - side curtains might just be the thing for you.
Good luck with your show curtains and with showing your cat.
